We reckon compost toilets are the most commented on aspect of our Tiny Home eco cabins! Comments like “Toilet was a bit odd but not difficult to use” and “ The composting toilet took some getting used to but instructions were clear and we got the hang of it!”’ to “ I was surprised how well the compost toilet worked “ fill our reviews.
We do accept that the idea of a compost toilet discourages some people from booking with us …. which is a shame as they are missing out on a contemporary eco stay experience that truly treads light on the environment.
We make no apologies at all for sticking with our guns on this one however.
Top 5 myths to bust
- They are like festival toilets
- They are ‘long drop’ style and am going to have to look at poo
- They smell
- They are difficult to use
- I am worried if I get sick / have my period
Lets bust those myths!
- Festival toilets are temporary and usually chemical based
- Our toilets are diverting toilets (meaning poo and wee are separate) and completely cleaned between guests – no poo remains in the toilet!
- Used correctly they do not smell and in any case we service on request!
- Once you have used a couple of times you have the hang of it (as often quoted in our reviews)
- We provide sick bags and feminine bags that go into general waste – this is legal waste disposal.
