Hazel Crafting – Stars and Hearts

Come along and try your hand at making these large scale coppiced Hazel decorations.

We will be using locally sourced Hazel or Willow, both of which are ideal for craft projects.

Depending on your progress on the day you should be able to make three or four pieces to take home, all of which would be really well suited for decorating at Christmas.

There will also be a selection of natural materials with which to decorate your projects should you wish too.

They would also make lovely gifts.

About your tutor

Erik Phipps (pictured above third from the right on a recent Hurdle making course here) is a coppice worker, hurdle maker and craftsman, having had experience in this field for over 25 years.

He has more recently been working on creating original designs, incorporating sustainably sourced, locally harvested materials in a new way.

His aim is to inspire other folk to recognise the viability of using such materials to create their very own craft objects for widespread enjoyment.

We will most likely be working in our studio.

Refreshments and drinks will be served.

Ticket price includes 2 nights accommodation, 2 workshop spaces AND car ferry return ticket via Southampton (regular sized car, sailing times STA)

Nearby Cowes is brilliant for some Festive shopping or we are right next to a beautiful Forest if walking in nature is more your style.
