Sew much more – sewing workshops with Pamela McIntryre
Once upon a tablecloth! Make a stylish and practical vintage fabric tote bag. Skill level beginners – although familiarity with a sewing machine is helpful.
Following her love of fabrics and making clothes as a teenager, Pamela McIntyre began her professional career in the costume department of The Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh, age 17, where she gained considerable knowledge in the cut & construction of period costume during three years of rep theatre of plays, period & contemporary, pantomime and musicals.
Pamela continued her career at Glyndebourne Opera, Sussex as deputy head of costume for a further 11 years before taking over the role of Head of Costume. During this time, she worked on award winning productions with internationally acclaimed directors, designers and artists. Thereafter followed a freelance career working at prestigious theatres and opera houses in New York and throughout major European cities.
Presently, Pamela is combining her passion for, and knowledge of, textiles, construction and design, together with her love of collecting original pieces of clothing and fabric, and is working with a collection of interior and fashion accessories made from existing materials including embroidered and printed linens. Through teaching, she hopes to inspire others to explore the endless possibilities and discover the joy and satisfaction of creating individual, stylish and imaginative pieces.
